At Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre, we’re eager to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for all LGBTQ+ individuals to connect, socialise, and build supportive networks. The demand for support spaces and services is growing and evolving at Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre. We are currently expanding the ways in which we support the community, and facilitated peer support groups have and will continue to play a vital role in that goal.

We are looking for Peer Support Group Facilitators to help nurture a supporting and affirming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals to come together, build meaningful connections, and work on personal development.

About the Young Adult Peer Support Group
The Young Adult Peer Support Group aims to provide a safe and supportive peer support environment for young LGBTQ+ individuals aged between 23 and 30 who are either ageing out of youth support services or fall within this demographic and would benefit from peer support. The group operates independently of casework services and focuses on offering peer support, community building, and empowerment. A crucial element of the group is to act as the next step for young people who are ageing out of youth support services and who are not ready to engage in adult peer support.

Facilitator Role Overview
As a facilitator for the Young Adult Peer Support Group at Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre, you will play a crucial role in nurturing a supporting and affirming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals to come together, build meaningful connections and work on personal development. You will co-lead and facilitate the Young Adult Peer Support Group, offering participants a space to receive and seek support from their peers, foster a sense of belonging, and provide opportunities for personal growth, community building and connection.

A full description of the volunteer role is available here.

If you’re excited about contributing to our LGBTQ+ community and are eager to create an inclusive space for young LGBTQ+ adults, we want to hear from you!
